Let’s be honest.
Who really wants enlightenment?
Nobody.
What we want is:
better relationships,
less anxiety,
a little more peace,
and maybe the universe throwing us a Ferrari as a thank-you gift.
And then comes enlightenment —
which takes all of that,
rolls it up,
and throws it in the cosmic trash bin.
The Joke’s on the Seeker
Imagine training your whole life for a marathon…
only to realize there is no race,
no track,
no finish line —
and the runner doesn’t even exist.
That’s what enlightenment is.
The seeker doesn’t cross the finish line.
The seeker evaporates.
Which is why enlightenment is for losers.
Only when you lose everything you thought you were,
do you realize you were never lacking in the first place.
The Ego’s Last Trick
The ego says:
“I will conquer my desires.”
“I will kill the ego.”
“I will be the most awakened one in the room.”
Beautiful.
Now the ego has reincarnated as a spiritual superhero.
And yet…
Truth waits, smiling.
Because even the idea “I am enlightened” is just another costume.
The Real Punchline
The real cosmic joke is this:
You were never unenlightened.
You were never bound.
You were never lacking.
All that drama about progress, effort, achievement —
it’s like dreaming you’re lost in the forest,
only to wake up in your bed.
Enlightenment is not an achievement.
It’s the loss of the one who wanted to achieve it.
