God Cannot Be Found Through the Mind

You can study the scriptures,
memorize verses,
argue about truth,
analyze the Vedas,
chant sacred syllables…
and still
miss God entirely.
Why?
Because God is not a thought.
God is not an object.
God is not a concept to be understood—
but a presence to be surrendered to.
And the mind,
in all its brilliance,
is simply not built for that.

The Mind Can Point, But Never Arrive
Yes, the mind has its place.
It can guide, question, inquire, compare, discern.
It can learn to say “Neti Neti”—not this, not that.
It can peel away false layers.
But it cannot grasp the Infinite.
It can only orbit around it.
The mind can describe the moon.
But it can never become the moon.
The mind can chant “Tat Tvam Asi.”
But it cannot dissolve into That.
Truth is not an answer the mind arrives at.
It is the silence where the question ends.
Every Spiritual Seeker Begins With the Mind
I did too.
I read the Bhagavad Gita like a hungry man reads a menu.
I studied the Upanishads like a scientist looking for formulas.
I devoured every word I could find
that pointed to the Self,
to Brahman,
to God.
I thought:
If I understand enough, I’ll awaken.
But understanding became another mask.
A spiritual identity.
A clever ego in robes.
I could explain Advaita…
but I hadn’t yet disappeared.
When Understanding Fails, Surrender Begins
There comes a moment on the path
when you reach the end of all answers.
You’ve understood everything…
and yet, something is still missing.
That something is you—
the one who is still searching.
That’s when grace intervenes.
The mind bows its head.
The heart cracks open.
And you fall—not into knowledge—
but into unknowing.
And there, God appears.
Not as an idea,
but as the very essence of your Being.

The Truth Lives in the Gap
The gap between two thoughts.
The stillness before the next word.
The breath before the next desire.
That is where God lives.
Not in the noise of mental commentary,
but in the quiet that holds it all.
The moment you stop trying to grasp,
you are grasped.
The moment you stop seeking,
you are found.
And the one who is found
was never apart to begin with.
This is Why the Saints Spoke in Paradox
Ramana Maharshi said, “Silence is the language of God.”
Nisargadatta said, “You are not your mind.”
Ashtavakra said, “You are the ever-free witness.”
They weren’t being poetic.
They were speaking from direct Knowing.
Words can only point.
Truth must be realized—
in silence,
in stillness,
in surrender.
It’s not something you “get.”
It’s what remains when you stop trying to get anything at all.
The Final Obstacle Is the Spiritual Mind
The ordinary mind seeks money, love, power.
The spiritual mind seeks awakening, liberation, bliss.
But both are minds.
Both are bound by concepts, desires, and expectations.
The final veil is the one who says,
“I am close.”
“I am almost there.”
“I am enlightened.”
Until even that “I” is seen through,
you remain caught.
The mind will not surrender itself.
But you can stop feeding it.
And in that stopping…
you become what you’ve always been.

So How Then, Do You Find God?
You don’t.
You lose yourself.
You vanish.
And in that vanishing,
God is revealed.
You don’t discover the Self—
You are the Self.
Right here,
right now,
beneath the mind’s restless waves.
Drop beneath thought.
Rest as Awareness.
Let go of the thinker.
And notice what remains.
Call it God.
Call it Self.
Call it Love.
Call it Silence.
It doesn’t matter.
It cannot be named.
But it is.
And it is you.
