The Cosmic Joke – The Seeker Who Tried Everything 😂 (Except Stopping)

He’d been seeking for 27 years.
Meditated in caves.
Chanted Sanskrit mantras until his tongue hurt.
Did 10-day vipassana retreats like they were weekend getaways.
Read every spiritual book,
watched every YouTube satsang,
and had a whole playlist of “Nonduality Bangers.”
He even had a framed photo of five different gurus —
depending on the mood of the day.
But one day, he came to me in despair and said:
“I’ve tried everything…
but I still haven’t awakened.”
So I asked:
“Have you tried stopping?”
His mind paused. Just for a second.
And in that gap… something cracked open.

The Ego’s Favorite Addiction: Seeking
Spiritual seeking is the cleverest disguise the ego wears.
It feels noble.
Purposeful.
Even holy.
But in reality,
the ego doesn’t want to find the Truth —
it wants to keep seeking it.
Because the moment you find it,
the seeker is out of a job.
So it keeps moving the goalpost:
“Once I heal my inner child, I’ll be free.”
“After this retreat, maybe I’ll finally get it.”
“Once I dissolve the ego fully… then I’ll be ready.”
But the game is rigged.
The one who wants to dissolve is the illusion.
Trying to Stop the Mind with the Mind
It’s like trying to put out fire with fire.
You meditate to stop thoughts,
but secretly track how peaceful it feels.
You chant “I am not the body”
while mentally checking your posture.
You inquire,
“Who am I?”
but with the expectation of a profound answer you can screenshot later.
And then you wonder why nothing’s changing.
Because the seeker is trying to undo itself
by doing more.
But the Truth isn’t on the other side of effort.
It’s what’s always here
when effort drops.
What If You Just… Stopped?
Not forever.
Not dramatically.
Just… this moment.
Right now.
Don’t fix.
Don’t solve.
Don’t improve.
Just stop.
Stop trying to get anywhere.
Stop trying to become someone.
Stop trying to feel a certain way.
And in the stillness that remains,
notice:
You are.
You’ve always been.
That which is aware of all seeking
has never moved.
It’s not waiting for you.
It is you.

The Spiritual Buffet Ends Here
The seeker who tried everything
wasn’t wrong.
He was just tired.
He had tasted every spiritual flavor.
But never digested the simple truth:
“The one who seeks is imagined.
What you are is already free.”
Once he stopped,
the silence came not as an event,
but as a revelation:
That nothing needed to change.
Not even him.
You Can’t Earn What’s Already Yours
Awakening isn’t a reward.
It’s not for good behavior.
You don’t get it after 108 chants.
You are That.
Right now.
Before you read another word.
You just forgot.
And tried to remember
through seeking.
But remembering doesn’t happen through action.
It happens through stopping.
Not as a practice.
But as surrender.
