The Pull Toward God You Can’t Explain

Some seekers come to Truth through suffering.
Others come through longing.
There’s a kind of ache—soft, unexplainable, almost romantic.
It doesn’t scream.
It pulls.
You don’t know what you're missing.
But you miss it so deeply, it hurts.
It’s not depression.
It’s not anxiety.
It’s something ancient in your chest calling you home.
This is Bhakti.
This is the whisper of God in your bones.
And it’s holy.

The Longing That Has No Object
When I was younger on the path,
I thought I was just sensitive.
Too emotional. Too intense. Too “deep.”
But now I know—
this wasn’t emotion.
It was the Presence of God
pulling me back into Himself.
It wasn’t personal sadness.
It was sacred emptiness.
And this longing
is a Grace disguised as ache.
You’re not yearning for a person.
Or an experience.
You’re yearning for what you already are—
but have momentarily forgotten.
Don’t Distract Yourself from the Ache
Most people run from this feeling.
They numb it.
Entertain it.
Analyze it.
Or try to fix it.
But the one who sits with it,
really sits with it…
…discovers a portal.
This longing—if you don’t interfere with it—
will dissolve your identity.
It will strip away the masks,
the roles,
the noise.
And in that nakedness,
you’ll discover:
You were never separate from God.
This Is Not a Concept. It’s a Fragrance.
When seekers hear “All is One,”
they nod.
They understand the teaching.
But that’s not what I’m pointing to.
I’m pointing to the place inside you
that cries when you hear Krishna’s name.
That trembles when you sit in silence.
That softens in the presence of saints and sages,
even if you don’t know why.
This isn’t theory.
It’s fragrance.
The unmistakable scent of something
so vast, so pure, so intimate—
you can’t define it,
but you are it.
You’re Not Crazy. You’re Tasting God.
Maybe you’ve been told you’re too sensitive.
That you should “get over it.”
That life is about goals and plans and logic.
But here’s what I’ll tell you:
That ache in your heart… is Divine.
That silence you feel drawn to… is Divine.
That sense that there’s more to life than what you see…
is the call of the Infinite.
You are being touched.
By That which has no name.

Let the Ache Take You All the Way
Don’t medicate the longing.
Don’t try to “heal” it.
Don’t run to pleasure or distraction or affirmation.
Let it burn.
Let it take you to the core of your being.
Because what you’re yearning for
isn’t outside of you.
You are not a person longing for God.
You are God,
pretending to be a person
just long enough to remember Himself.
The Path of Devotion Is Not for the Faint of Heart
It will break you open.
It will undo your pride.
It will wreck your plans.
It may even look like madness to others.
But in that madness,
there is a strange peace.
In that falling apart,
there is Grace.
In that total surrender,
you will be cradled by Something
that cannot be named—
but is more You than your name has ever been.
Stop Trying to Reach God. Let God Reach You.
This isn’t about climbing a ladder.
It’s not about becoming good or worthy.
It’s about falling inward
into the love that is already holding you.
God is not distant.
God is not a reward.
God is not a destination.
God is the One reading these words through your eyes.
The One that placed the longing in your heart
so it could lead you back
to what has never left.
The One You Long For… Is the One Who Is Longing
In the end,
this is the mystery:
There is no seeker.
There is no path.
There is no final union.
There is only the One,
appearing as devotion, longing, and return.
You are not apart from That.
You are That.
And your longing
is its echo.

If You Feel This Longing Deep Within Your Bones…
